Solar Panels at Radar Plumbing Solar water heating is the next best thing in green applications. Imagine, on any sunny day you could have plentiful, free hot water. No waiting for your traditional water heater to recoup after the family has showered. Solar water heating promises instant and constant hot water, powered by our friend, the Sun. The solar process starts, of course, with photonic energy beemed to us from our closest star. Translation: the heat from the sun's light (solar radiation) heats up collector panels installed on your roof. The collector panels convert the solar radiation to heat, and transfers that heat from the panels to water that is being circulated through the system. That hot water is made available to you in the same way that you always get it - kitchen faucets, bath spigots, any hot water tap in your house. If the sun isn't shining, then you still have a traditional source of hot water, for instance a natural gas water heater. The idea is akin to leaving a pot of water outside on a hot day. The light from the sun and the hits the pot and the water warms up. Presto! Hot water. However, the Buderus solar systems that Radar Plumbing Operations, Inc. uses are much more efficient and provide much hotter water. Solar water heating not only saves you on fuel costs, but also on taxes. State and federal governments are offering tax incentives for alternative energy applications, including solar water heating systems! Check out our links page for references to government incentive programs. It pays to go green. Have more questions? Check our Buderus' Frequently Asked Questions for some more in-depth answers |
